Everyone at Willesley Primary School has an equal right to develop and achieve their potential regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation and religion. Equality of opportunity underpins the school curriculum and the work of the school. The Protected Characteristics at Willesley

It is important that all children gain an understanding of the world they are growing up in, and learn how to live alongside, and show respect for, a diverse range of people. 

The Equality Act 2010, identifies the ‘protected characteristics’ as:

• sexual orientation

• eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation

• advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it

• foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it
